Okay...

He is home and back to his usual self. He still has a big bump and bruise but it has gone down loads. Now he is sitting playing a car game on the ds.

Oh No :(

As I type Daddy is taking a trip to A&E with a baby boy with a bashed head :(

My poor little boy was doing what he does best, running, when he tripped and banged his head on the corner of the banister at the bottom of the stairs. I was in the lounge with the TV on but heard the bang from there. He screamed and then closed his eyes and tried to sleep. And sitting on his forehead is the biggest, bruised egg I have ever seen on such a little head. It stand out by a couple of inches and looks damn nasty. We took him outside to see if the fresh air would perk him up but he still struggled to keep his baby blues open. So we air on the side of caution and decide to get him checked out properly. After the story of Natasha Richardson earlier this year I will always be overly careful when it comes to an injury to the head. She was fine, got up and laughed about it - refusing to get herself checked out. An hour later she began to feel unwell but by then it was too late to save her and she died in hospital.

As soon as I hear from them I will update.

My little campers...

arrived home in the middle of the night.....LOL!

They left here at 4pm on Saturday for an overnight camping trip - camping the real way, in the middle of nowhere with only the wildlife for company. Actually, the middle of Dartmoor....LOL. So off they set. Reports from camp (okay so that bit is a lie - there is no phone signal on Dartmoor so it was actually reports when they arrived home) said they set up the tent near the woods - by a stream. The three of them collected firewood and made a fire. Lewis helped fry some bacon and they sat and ate by the campfire. Just before darkness fell they set off for a trek along the edge of the stream. They loved it! Once thet were back at camp they sat around the fire, poking it and adding more twigs to keep it alight. It was quite late when Christopher's eyes filled with tears. He wanted his Mummy. (Awwwwww - thanks hunny bunny!) Daddy tried to comfort him and tell him morning would come soon but he reeeeeeeally missed Mummy. So down came the tent and the bag got repacked and they treked back to the car and came home. Mummy was well asleep by the time they got in so never got to see her little boy anyway - but he fell asleep happy in his bed.

He was braver then me though! You wouldn't catch me sleeping on the middle of Dartmoor. My brave boy :)

Well DH is taking Lew & Christopher camping tomorrow evening. He has his camping stove, whistling kettle and food all ready. He keeps on about how he will make bacon, eggs & beans. Actually, all he keeps on about is food. LOL. I tried explaining he doesn't need to go off with his tent to be have to cook. He can do it here anytime!

15 years ago...

my sweet little girl lost her fight for life :( But didn't she put up a damn good fight for one so small? Now, looking back I feel so bad that every night I left her to go home to my little boy. At the time it seemed right but now I wonder how I could have done that? I should have spent every moment of those 8 days by her side.

Anyway - I will be back later with a post about my day :)

Squirrel is just so cute! He found my hidden bag of midget gems and kissed me and smiled sweetly so I would open them for him. He tipped them all over the table and then separated the black ones from the rest. He crammed his little hands full of the blacks ones and brought them to me saying 'Daddy black'. I had to put them somewhere safe for Daddy. And for those that have never witnessed Daddy eating midget gems let me explain that he robs all the black ones saying 'Daddy loves the black ones'. He was a very happy Daddy to come home and see the pile of black sweets that Squirrel had kindly saved for him :)

In the news today: An investigation is under way at a nursery school after staff left a toddler behind when they went on a trip. Thomas Harvey's mother, Hilary, realised her three-year-old son was not with his friends when she went to pick him up from Clive Vale Nursery School in Hastings, East Sussex, at the end of the day. She told the Sun newspaper: "The cars started to arrive back and were unloading the children when I realised Thomas wasn't there. The staff were asking each other 'Is Thomas not with you?'."

How bad is that? Luckily the staff at the place they had been found the little boy and looked after him until his mum went and rescued him. But it could have turned out horribly different if he had wandered out into the town.

It has been over a week...

since I took & shared pics with you all. That is really bad of me. I will be a good girl and get some pics tomorrow :)

So then ,what did you make of the XFactor? It was good seeing Simon again but I preferred how it used to be. I did however enjoy watching 'The Cube' as did my boys. Lewis said he wants Daddy to go into the cube....LOL.

You probably remember that on Christopher's birthday we went to Plymouth and he built his Batman bear. On his next birthday we are going to go and let him build another bear - either Superman or Spiderman. He is going to make a collection of 'Superheros'! He said 'For my birthday I want to go to Haven and I want Zara to come'. Bless him! And incase you are thinking 'OMG when is his birthday' it is not till April next year.....LOL....so don't panic that it is soon. He just likes to plan early!

Anyway, Coro is making me laugh so I am off now. See you tomorrow with the pics :)

This just sickens me. The little girl is the same age as Christopher. Isn't it enough that she has had to go through treatment for a brain tumour - which is still growing and has left her blind in one eye and with very poor sight in the other? What is wrong with people?

A girl of five who is battling cancer is recovering after two boys sprayed an aerosol in her face and tried to set her alight.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "It is reported the girl was playing when she was approached by two young boys who kicked and punched her before spraying an aerosol in her face and attempting to set her alight. The match did not ignite."

It just leaves me speechless :(

sees the return of the X-Factor. At last something to watch on a Saturday evening :)

The 'Bag Story' is causing a lot of speculation so I will share with you all - just so you know all about it. At the weekend I hada red patch just under my lip - it was sore and I thought I would wake to a horrible spot. If only! LOL. Instead I had about 15 small blisters - all together in one area which was the size of a 50 pence piece. I had no idea what it was so was messing around with it - thinking I was doing good. The next day it was really sore and the blisters had grown. I popped them (Ewww I know) and put some savlon on them. By the end of the day it hurt to talk or eat. And as the days rolled by so this really gross 'thing' looked worse. Turns out that it is a cold sore - something I have never had, and I always assumed was a small thing. But by golly no. It is HUGE!

Here is the stages of them:

Day 1-2 : The Tingle stage. [The Prodrome Stage.]
In most cases a person's first indication that a cold sore is developing is that they notice a sense of soreness, tautness, or swelling in the location where their cold sore will ultimately form. Sometimes this same area will become slightly reddened.

Day 2-3 : The Blister stage.
The first readily visible sign of cold sore formation is the appearance of several fluid filled blisters. Usually these blisters are very small (smaller in diameter than the thickness of a dime) and they usually form in a cluster that is no larger than about the size of a nickel. In some cases individual blisters coalesce with others so to form a single larger blister.

Day 4 : The Weeping stage. [The Ulcer Stage.]
Cold sore blisters usually rupture soon after they have formed, resulting in a shallow reddish ulceration whose surface becomes gray. This ulcerative phase of cold sore formation can be its most painful stage. This is also the stage during which a cold sore is most contagious.

Days 5 - 8 : The Crusting stage.
In those facial areas where a cold sore lesion is not kept wet by moisture from the mouth the ulcer will become dry and scab over with a brownish crust. This scabbing formation is often accompanied by an itching or burning sensation. The scab itself will often crack or break, which in turn can cause bleeding.

Days 9 - 12 : The Final Healing stage.
As time progresses so will the cold sore's healing. Usually a series of scabs will form on the lesion, each one flaking off before it is replaced by a new one. Each new scab will be smaller than the previous one until finally the cold sore resolves itself fully, in most cases without scarring.

Great. Sounds like fun. So I am going to be minging for days yet. AWESOME!

Apparantly 85% of people get infected by the virus before the age of 5 - but 40% of those never get a cold sore - the virus lies dorment.

Anyway -there you have it. I have a face that is soooooooooo disgusting I refuse to go out.

A new Addict!

So cute. Squirrel has been playing on Lew's old red DS lite today. He LOVES it and is really good on it! He likes going on PictoChat by himself and drawing pictures. He does a really good little man complete with arms, legs, hands and feet. And then he say 'And a hat' and draws a little hat on his stick man. Awwwwwww! I will have to try and get a picture to share. But seriously - he is so quiet! He is not charging around like a bull in a china shop - he is sitting sweetly on the chair drawing over and over.

What is this weather playing at? I put out my washing and 5 mins later the sky goes really black so I bring it back in again, only for the sun to come back out. Still I should make the most of being outside seeing I am housebound....LOL.

Got some scrummy looking potatoes baking in the oven. Yummy. So gotta go :) Catch you later!

It is 3am...

& I couldn't sleep so here I am, bored. Anyone care to keep me company? Maybe I should go out somewhere seeing I am only allowed out after dark (back to the bag story....lol).

I hate Wednesday's. They are so boring as there is nothing on TV in the evenings. Since they moved Coro we are left with nothing at all the watch. Maybe I should watch my holiday video as I still haven't looked at it yet! Maybe I should share some of it with you. Hmmmm.......

Remembering my baby...

as we spend her birthday without her. Can you believe that she would be been 15 today? I try to imagine what she would have been like (besides someone who would fight me for the bathroom each morning!) but I can't see her as anything other then that tiny little baby who could fit in the palm of your hand.

Do we age in Heaven? I will chose the answer No. Because my Nan is looking after her for me and I would rather think she is rocking her in her arms instead of trying to keep her eye on her and all the teenage boys ;)

I guess I will find out for sure when my time comes. Will I be greeted at the big old gates by my Nan smiling, holding my baby in her arms, or will she be all flustered saying 'At last! You took your time!?

Okay so I have been a bad blogger again. Very sorry. But here I am and I have a couple pics to share - so that must help we get out the bad book - right?

We went out on the Moors today. It was so lovely and peaceful. A couple pics at the end of this post :)

Yesterday was a bad day. I had to sit and listen to a pile of bull and nastiness and it just got to me. So I sat and cried :( I know, I sound like a baby. But the story is lovely at the end. I sat staring at the PC screen so that no-one would notice my tears. Then Squirrel came up with his little man and toy car, passing it to me to try and fit the man in the car. He looked at me and wiped away a tear with his little fingers and said 'Don't cry Mumma' and then kissed my cheek, wrapped his arms around me and gave me a great big bear hug, patting my back gently and repeating 'Don't cry. Don't cry Mumma'. Sadly that just made me even worse, but it was so lovely seeing him there trying to comfort me :( Bless my baby boy.

Our trip...

As promised here is a little more detail on what we did on our long weekend away J

On Friday we arrived a little after 1pm. We couldn’t check in until 4 so we parked on the Seafront and walked all along the beach. It was H-U-G-E!!!! We walked for almost 3 hours! It was so hot and sunny and the beach had lots of kid’s things on it.

We checked in just after half 4 and found our new home for the following 3 days. We took a look around the park and went into the Entertainment ‘ShowBar’ where we watched a circus act and then played Bingo. The boys played in the arcades and Adam won an ‘I Love You’ teddy which he gave to Squirrel. We went back to our room at about 10pm as the boys were tired.

Saturday morning we woke to gorgeous sunshine. We had breakfast and then went off to the Seafront again. We sat on the sand and the boys played in the sea and on the powder soft sand. We went in the Pedalos out on the sea and then they had some rides on the snails and giant bouncy slide. We went back to our room for a spot of late at 2.30. At 4 we went to the funpool where they had a great time!!!

At 8pm we went for a walk along the beach with some fish and chips. Yum! We went up to the fair and the boys went into the arcades. Adam won Squirrel a ‘Peppa Pig’. We stayed out till about 10 and then headed ‘home’ so they could get to bed.

Sunday was another glorious day. We spent all day on the beach – hiring deckchairs this time. The kids loved going in the sea – even Squirrel was brave enough!! Daddy went to KFC at lunch time and we sat on the beach eating a boneless Banquet. It was so peaceful and relaxing – the kids played happily. Could a day be anymore perfect?

We stayed out until about half 4 and then headed back to the holiday park for a shower. We went into the outdoor play area with the boys and then headed off to the beach again at 8. This time we stopped off in Dominos and sat on the sand eating our pizzas! We walked along to the fair and arcades again where they played for a while and had a couple rides on the cars. We got some hot donuts and walked back along the beach eating them. The beach looked so lovely withal the lights on J

We got back to the car at about 10.15 and stopped at McDonalds where we got Hot chocolate to take back to our room. Adam & Lewis went off to the ‘FunWorks’ area for a little while while Squirrel went to sleep and I sat telling Christopher stories about ‘Batman Bear & Batman Christopher’.

Monday morning was drizzling with rain and we loaded up the car – thankful that we had such gorgeous weather and that the rain had held off until we were ready to head home. How lucky were we???!!!

It is always horrible coming back to reality after such a nice time away. L We are all quite grumpy today – remembering what we had done an what we would be doing now if we were still there.

We most definitely want to go back again one day and are so grateful that everything was perfect for us.

We are home!!

We had a fantastic time and are all feeling a bit deflated now - being back home after such a nice break. Christopher cried (actually sobbed) for about an hour on the way home because he wanted to go back. Bless him.

I will be back tomorrow with more info on some of what we did - but for now I leave you with a picture of my 'sandy' boy :) Hope you didn't miss me too much!!!

And yep - he does have a coating of sand all over his face!!!

Someone, please...

sorry for the extra post so soon, but after reading this I have to say PLEASE someone, if I ever end up like this, shoot me or something. I think this is way too sad and something I think most people would find unbearable. Any stroke is bad - but not many affect the top of the brain like in this case...

This young Mum is just 26. She had a stroke a year ago leaving her mind normal, but her body totally paralysed. The only thing she can move is her eyes. So to communicate someone reads through the alphabet and she looks up for 'Yes' and blinks for 'No'. That is how they spell out what she wants to say.

Hmmmmm.....

I think that sun is playing tricks on me! One moment it looks quite promising and the next the Heavens open. Still, I am pretty confident that tomorrow will bring glorious sunshine.

I have been busy packing the last bits and am pretty much there now. We just need to throw the rain coats in the car, just in case, although I doubt we will need them. The kids are wound up like springs, they are so excited! Lewis wanted to pack his own case. Ummmm..... nice thought Lew but I would be scared to open it when we arrive. He keeps on asking if I have any jobs he can do. He pointed to my ironing pile and asked if I wanted him to put it in the case. Once again, I would be scared to unpack if Lew was packing! Lots of toys and a few un-ironed clothes would fill his case!

Well, this will probably be my last post until we get home....I know I know...don't cry! LOL! Just think of all the pics I will have to share! Those 'Facebookers' out there - I will be updating my status occasionally via my mobile ;)

And how did I spent this lovely sunny day? Cleaning my leather suite and clearing out. Maybe not the best thing to have done on such a day - but the sun sure does bring on the motivation! The kids have been outside enjoying the delicious weather. Squirrel just LOVES the outdoors and would live out there if he could! My garden is looking a little worse for wear as out came the sandpit, and a collection of cars, bikes and scooters. It is okay taking it out and playing with it but not quite such fun putting it all away again after!

Well, off to check on dinner so I will see you tomorrow (and you again please Mr. Sun!)

I have been busy...

packing! Yep! We are off and away in a couple days time! I found a last min deal at Haven (I grabbed the last spot - how lucky is that?!) There is so much to do both inside and out - so if the miserable weather continues we will still have loads to keep us busy!!! And if we are lucky enough to see the sunshine - Haven is right by the beach - and the sand is like powder - totally gorgeous. We went when Christopher was about 1 and I remember the beach. It was quiet (just us there) and soooooooooo pretty. Fingers crossed we can get to enjoy it (refusing to look out the window and see the reality out there).

Well, as you can see I have, at long last, given my blog a makeover. I mean as cute as the 'Squirrel' theme was - it was well overdue a change. And this time we have Christopher welcoming you.

I am been sitting and watching my babies. They are so cute! Adam is upstairs on his PC and Lew, Furry & Squirrel are sat side by side on the settee. Lew & Furry are playing the Xbox together. And little Squirrel has a cushion on his lap with a plastic container with some lego in it. He is concentrating really hard and putting the little man together. When he manages to finish the little man he picks up one of his little matchbox cars and proudly sits the mini lego man in the car and takes him for a ride. It is so cute to watch!

Anyway - I'd better go and finish my work and get the pototoes peeled ready for dinner. See you soon!

August is here already. This year is just whizzing by.

We took the boys to Decoy today. It started to rain so I took Shelter under the slide....LOL. The kids were like 'What are you doing under there Mum?'.

Sorry there are not more. Squirrel would not stand still long enough, Lew was just gone and Adam was sneezing and moaning and spent most of the time in the toliet wiping his nose. He gets like it from time to time. LOL.
