A we have a new...

STAR OF THE WEEK!!!!!

Oliver came out with a big smile on his face saying 'Guess who is the Star of the week?', I didn't let on the the ribbon around his neck was a give away. I had a few guesses, starting with Freya, cause he loves Freya. Every name I gave got a 'Nope' and his smile got bigger. So then I said 'What is this ribbon around your neck?' and he started giggling and I pulled on the ribbon and out popped his Star of the week card. He is VERY proud!

Lets go back to Freya. Now I am not one to be bitter, but it was only a couple of weeks ago he lovingly asked me to marry him. So when he came home on Friday saying 'Guess who I am going to marry?' I obviously said 'Me!' as my answer. He didn't seem bothered that he was about to break my heart, he just said 'Nope' with a big smile on his face. 'I asked Freya to marry me and she said yes'. Oh. Thanks. :( but I am allowed to go to the wedding so I guess that is something ;)

Off to choose a hat...

This was me -> :(

Okay so I admit it, I can be an emotional mess at times. But why is it the things most people take no notice of that make me worse?

Standing at the bottom of the steps waiting for Oliver at school. The other Reception class came out first. A little boy comes down the step, waving his painting in the air for his Mummy to see. And then he falls. The teacher rushes to him and stands him up asking 'Are you okay?' and this little boy nods yes but you can see he is struggling not to cry. His Mum comes over and cuddles him, again asking if he is okay. Again he nods but his little lip is quivering :( The more fuss being made of him the harder he was finding it not to cry. 'Aren't you a brave boy?' his Mum says, rubbing his head. Now the tears start filling up in his eyes (and mine). STOP IT! Leave it now, can't you see he is trying so hard to keep his tears in? But no. She went on and on and on 'You are such a brave boy!' and then a little tear escapes and he quickly wipes it away. She questions him again 'You sure you are okay?' he is nodding yes but his little face is screaming 'No. I am not alright. I just fell down the steps. I dropped and crumpled the pcture I was so proud of. I am trying not to cry and you are not making it easy'. Thank goodness Oliver by now had come out and I could walk away because I was struggling to keep my tears in too.

Okay. Like I can. I can be an emotional mess at times.

Tip for you all...

always try on a new costume BEFORE you need it. Do not assume it will fit :O

Yep, today is National Book Day, so the kids had to go to school dressed up. Oliver was Superman again, thankfully he walked instead of flew because the 'steam' was in his eyes ;) Christopher was Buzz. And his trousers were waaaaay too big. And we didnt put the costme on until we were about to walk out the door. I couldnt find a safety pin to pin the waist. In a moment of desperation I used a peg. oh well, it worked.

He looked sooooooooooooo cute! I do have pics to share. They will follow soon.

Adams birthday on Tuesday went well. He had a lovely day :) My little baby is all grown up :(

Be back later with the 'Buzz' pics :P

Hello :)

Just a catch up, even though nobody seems to read this anymore. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that I went for a year without writing anything ;)

Adam & Lew went back to school today, Furry & Oliver return tomorrow. Lewis is a nut nd almost went to school wearing Olivers coat (yes, Olivers!) saying 'My coat is really tight'. Ha ha ha. Daddy was there saying 'Stop moaning, its not that bad' and I told him to come let me see. He walked in the room and I was like 'That isnt your coat'... lol.

Have a great Monday :)

Twernips

Twernips is a nice, brand spanking new word I have made up. It is a word that can easily be used to describe South West Water who have left me with a headache.

I pay my bill monthly, straight from my bank. So today, when I had a letter in the mail sayig that I am in arrears by £142.00 I was like 'Huh???' So I checked with my bank and every ayment had been made. So I called them. And after a half an hour confising call I am still baffled by them. The call went from them saying 'We haven't recieved January or Februrys payment from you' and me saying how the payments had left my bank so where had they gone? Then they decided that they had been paid but that I was still in arrears of £142 but had no idea why. In the end they decided that when they had been putting my monthly payments up since 2007 they had not put them up enough every year and that had now left arrears. Excuse me if Iam still not convinced.

However, they did mentioned 'Water Sure' to me and were amazed that I had never heard of it. Have you?

In case, like me, you are wondering what that is, they come and fit a water meter (it was here that she said 'Don't panic!') and because I have at least 3 children under 19, they cap your bill to £500 a year. They said you obviously use a lot of water but not through waste but through necessasity. So instead of the proposed £79.00 each month I would only pay £45.00. She is putting the forms in the mail. However, I still need to clear the arrears by the end of March. Stupid people.

Anyway, that is my Twernip story. Hope you enjoyed! :P

Goodbye to 2011...

and looking forward to 2012.

This year has be pretty kind. There have been moment of tough choices but everything ended up okay. Auguest was a particularly touh month, with me hardly sleeping, worrying if I had made the right choice about Furry and his school. All turned out so much easier than I ever could have imagined. I put myself through hell for a month for nothing ;)

Oliver was a cause for a bit of concern too, with me feeling like I had made the wrong choice as we waited, not so patiently, for a school place for him. But all has ended nicely there too with him making a whole bunch of friends and loving school :)

I hope 2012 is a wonderful year for everyone I care about. And I am going to bring my blog back to life so you can share the year with me. Give me a yay!!!

Have a safe evening and a healthy and happy 2012.

Days 25, 26 & 27

will be with you...sometime :(

squirrel is a lot better now but has passed his germs onto Baby Sam. It is not fun. he was burning hot and so full of cold. His little eyes are all red and his nose is driving him crazy. He struggled to get any sleep last night *yawn*

To top it off he has had a number of accidents. The first one he was showing off - standing up with no hands. That was fine till he started to boggie. Down he went - leaving a nice bruise on his forehead. Within 5 mins he was stood holding on (think he learnt his lesson???) and started boucing - and his bashed his chin on the edge of the table. he has a nice bruise under his chin to match his forehead. This was yesterday. Today he thought he was clever and let go the chair and tried to walk himself to the table. He caught hiS face this time and had a swollen and bleeding lip. That child will send me totally grey I am sure!

So, as you can guess - it is pretty manic here. But I will catch up on my pictures as soon as I can.

Come on weekend. I am ready and waiting for you.

Fab day!!!!

And yes, I know that Sarcasm is not a good thing but neither was my morning.

It started as I was about to walk out the door. i told Oliver to go get his shoes. He came back with 1 - telling me that was all that was there. He was totally correct. The shoe fairy had come while we slept and STOLE his shoe. I ransacked the house but still no shoe. I am getting rather stressed by now. I mean how can a shoe vanish? So, we left home about 15 mins late, Oliver wearing just 1 shoe. So I had to stop off at Sainsburys to buy him some shoes as he had Nursery. They didn't have any in his size. All they had was a pair of canvas summer shoes. Well I was not in the position to be fussy. So Oliver went off to Nursery in canvas shoes in the pouring rain and to top it of those puddles looked VERY inviting to him. Oh and did I tell you the plastic tag was too thick to snap so it was still attached to the shoe? AND he went into nursery VERY proud of his shoes - showing them to EVERYONE and telling them how 'Mummy just got me these'...

This is another good story. I got an Email from Riveria today. They said they are going to be charging £344 a year for 'tree maintenance'. Huh??? So, Daddy rang them. This is where it gets good. It has nothing to do with the tree in our garden. Every in Chelston got one. It is for grass cutting and tree trimming. So he asked why the council do that and it is part of your council tax. They said they are responsible for certain verges. He asked for a copy of the map that shows every bit of grass they are charging us for. She said we have always technically paid it as it was included in the rent. So he asked if the rent will go down now??? She said No - this is an additional charge. So he said 'You are charging everyone twice then?' and told her they were ripping people off. LOL.

Now Sam has got Olivers vegetable rice and tipped it everywhere. If Mr. T could see my carpet now..... Ha ha ha!!!

Hooray!!!! We have sun!

hasn't it been lovely out there? We took a walk along the seafront/pier and up to the good old pound shop. We stopped off in the arcade where Lewis and Daddy managed to squeeze into the little red bus for a free ride (yes - I do have pics to follow later). As we were walking towards the arcades lots of sirens sped past. As we got near the theatre we saw the ambulances and police parked there and the traffic at a standstill. As we walked past we saw a lady in the road on a strecher with a plastic collar on and surrounded by paramedics. A car was parked on the pavement and the Police were taking statements. Not sure if the car hit the lady. Not pretty to see.

Well, Dancing on Ice starts tonight :) Hope it is as good as it usually is. Sad thing is it means the weekend has come to an end and I will be up early in the morning. Where did those 2 days go???

Not again.....

I only went to Nursery yesterday. I can't go again......

Yep, that is how my morning started. Ummmm.... Yes Oliver - you can and you will. Sorry hunny bunny but you will be starting school in September and Nursery is the best thing to make it easy on you.

He did go off with a smile on his face which was nice. Fingers crossed he will still be smiling when I collect him!

The boys have settled back into school nicely. Not saying they are happy being back but they go off with a smile and come home the same way. So that is good. We will be finding out soon what school Lew will go to in September. That has just happened so fast. It seems like yesterday that he was in Nusery, being a shepherd in his nativity. Where on earth did all those years go???

At the moment it is really peaceful here. Matt is in bed, Add, Lew & Furry are at school, Squirrel is in Nursery and Baby Sam is sleeping. The fire is on and I can hear the rain outside. The only downside is that in about 20 mins I will have to leave to collect Squirrel, so that means waking a sleeping baby and going out in that rain. But I will just sit and enjoy the moment for now.

I will be back tomorrow to update you on Lew's hospital appt. And remember to check out todays photo a bit later. It is an old photo but I am wanting comments on it please ;)

Day 3...

and Squirrel is your eye candy today :)

isn't he just the cutest???

We took out tree down yesterday. The holidays are now well and truly over - back to school tomorrow. That went waaaaaaaaay too fast and I am NOT ready for the 6am wake up.

Lewis has his hospital appointment on Friday at Exeter for the wiring of his head. That is at 11am so Daddy has the day off. We will drop the kids to school and then go to Exeter with Lew. His appointment should take about an hour so we will be back in plenty of time for school pick up.

See you all tomorrow :)

Day 1 (Happy 2011)

Happy 2011 everyone! Hope is is happy & healthy and full of fun.

I decided against starting a new blog for the 365 project (picture a day) and decided just to post them here. So some days you will just get a picture - other days there will be a picture and a normal post, full of my delightful ramblings :)

So todays picture, day 1, is of Sam. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Everytime I put the camera in his direction this is what he did!!!

Another year comes to an end...

It is once again time to look back and reflect on what 2010 brought our way.

January: We had a really cold and snowy January – with Mum worried about her flight and journey up to London. I wonder if she will miss her big US trip in 2011?

Mr. T turned 70 – and he doesn’t look a day over 60 ;)

My boys enjoyed lots of trips to the Quad Bike center last January – with Oliver trying to convince everyone he was 5 so he could ride!

February: Lots happened in February. My little Squirrel started Nursery, such a big day for such a little boy. Every day passed slowly as we grew anxious to meet and welcome a new little somebody into our lives. Not once did I think Feb would pass and he still wouldn’t have put in an appearance! Feb saw the 2nd anniversary of Nan’s death. I learnt to smile more than cry as I remembered her. Adam also turned 14 this year. My baby is all grown up!

March: March was a BIG one! The first week was slow & boring as I waited for my new arrival. Was this baby EVER going to come and join us? I can’t really answer that as in the end he was evicted – who really knows how long he would have made us wait? So March saw the arrival of beautiful baby Sam. The rest of themonth was wrapped up in feeding, nappies and trying to make this new little person feel safe.

April: Number 6 was a big number in our house in April. My precious little Furry celebrated his 6th birthday! And on the exact same day baby Sam turned 6 weeks old. We took a trip to Plymouth to let Furry build a new bear. In the news was the story about the volcanic ash cloud. Remember that and how long it went on for???

May: May saw Squirrel poorly for over a week – with temps of around 103.4. It was not nice seeing him ill for so long. Also this month saw Gordon Brown outvoted in the election and David Cameron take the reins. We took a last minute day trip to Weymouth this month to surprise Mum & Mr T who had gone for the weekend. The weather was lovely and baby Sam was a good boy.

June: I turned 21 (again) Ha ha ha! Lewis celebrated his 10th birthday! The weather was nice and we spent lots of time outside. The trampoline got so much use this month! The World Cup kicked off – but the less said about that the better!

July: My baby boy turned 21 this month. We are both the same age now ;) Lanterns were released as we remembered Nan on her birthday. School finished for the summer with Lewis leaving Year 5 and Furry leaving Year 1. The both got really good school reports  Proud of my boys!

August: A miserable month of rain. Didn’t get to do half of what we planned this month. Hannah would have celebrated her 16th birthday and we wondered what might have been. We watched our first 3D film – Toy Story 3 – this month. Baby Sam had his first ever cold :(

September: Lewis started his final year at Primary school this month. Seems so hard to believe that 2011 will see him start secondary. We took a long train ride to Paignton and Baby Sam turned half a year old! That flew by!

October: We all had to have a ‘birthday’ for Squirrel this month after he saw a claw toy he wanted. Sad thing is he really believed it was his special day! Lew had his Halloween disco and Mum & Mr. T took a trip to Canada.

November: Oliver turned 4 this month. We won him a ‘Sackboy’ cake on Palm FM. Parents evening at school went really well. I have such lush boys. I am so lucky 

December: Snow. Ice. Cold. Oh – and Christmas!!!! December was a very cold month!!! It wraps up the year as we get ready to welcome 2011. And I wish you all a Happy and more important – a Healthy 2011. May it be filled with lots of laughter and happy times.

See you next year!

Books, books and more books...

Actually 4. 4 books in a week. Is that verging on obsessive? Hmmmm.... I may need to go to Readers anonymous :)

The one I have just finished was called 'Body Double' and was so griping it took less than 24 hours to start and finish. A very good read. I have a few old paperbacks floating around if anyone wants to read some. Make the most of it as I no longer need to leave my chair to buy new 'books' and will no longer have books to share. Tess Gerritsen is a fantastic writer and I highly recommend her books, as is Harlan Coben and Linwood Barclay. They give you a book full of twists and turns that make you almost unable to put it down.

Anyway, off to decide which book to read next!

Have a good evening!

My New Years Resolution...

or part of it is that I promise to make a better effort at updating my blog. I also am thinking of starting a 365 blog - which is where you post a photo every single day, numbering them from 1 on day 1 to 365 at the end of the year. The picture can be of anything, from people to a picture of the weather, anything that has been significant that day.

Watch this space for more. :)

Happy Happy Birthday...

to my sweet little FOUR year old! Wow! 4! My little firecracker has given so much love in 4 years - what a total delight he is. Full of energy, full of mischief, full of love. He has given me so much, more than a little person could ever understand. I love that little boy so much.

Birthday pics to come tomorrow :)

Sackboy :)

We are on our way to Plymouth to buy a £5 c sackboy beanie toy from Argos. That sounds a bit mad doesn't it? But it was the only place that had one.

Oliver is really excited about his birthday next week. He asks every day if it is his birthday yet. I told him this morning that it is one week til his party. His reply?? AWESOME!!!

Who watched the X factor last night? I am seriously thinking of not bothering. They all are rubbish. I would like either one direction to win or Matt. But cant say they are great.

Celebrity starts next Sunday. So far I have heard the Stacey from the Xfactor is in it, and Linford Cristie, Jedward, Nigel Havers and Gail Porter. Anyone heard any different?

Baby Sam has his baby check on Tuesday. He is so cute. He loves sitting himself up and looks really proud of himself :) I have some pics to share later.

Anyway, we are close to our destination so I will say bye for now xxxx
