They had...

a great time at Crealy! Christopher & Zara are both so cute! She is so much bigger then him you would never believe they are the same age! They all played lots and got to carve pumpkins and bring them home. Here is Furry & his bestest friend - I chose this pic to share because you can see just how different in size they are :)

Squirrel, Squirrel, Squirrel! What can I say about my cute little boy? They had little tractors with trailers on the back. The idea was you ride your tractor around, filling the trailer with 'apples' (plastic balls) and taking them to the 'Juice Maker' - where you would pop the balls into a tube and they would fly out the other end. Well he had a better idea. A little boy got on one and was about to pedel off when Squirrel thought he would hitch a free ride - j...umping in the trailer. The little boy looked round as if to say 'Huh? Where did he come from!'.....LOL!

Back to the X Factor now. I am still trying to work out why Cherly is wearing her dinner plates but I guess it is Halloween and a day for costumes. LOL!

Oh happy days....

Not the best of days. Don't even try and work it out. But somehow, for some reason, Adam threw something across the room - it hit the flat screen PC monitor and BANG! Smashed. Am I happy? No is putting it mildly. Anyone ever had a flat screen monitor smash before? Obviously it will now be fit for the bin, but it is weird how they break. Turned off you would never think anything was wrong as the black screen is intact. However it is the layer behind the black sheet that breaks. And that is not visible until you switch it on. All you are greeted with is a white screen with what looks like smashed glass. Gone forever :( I may actually take a pic before we throw it - just cause I know you are desperate to see.

Sad thing is he thinks it isn't really his fault because he wasn't 'aiming for it' or anything. Huh? And that matters because? Well after a nice 'telling off' from me he was crying and saying sorry. He was planning on selling his PSP because he wanted to buy himself something - but now his PSP WILL be sold but the money will go towards replacing the monitor. Trying to look on the brightside I am thankful that it was the monitor on Lew's PC as that was the oldest flatscreen we have - and although it cost £200 when Daddy bought it, it was a long time ago. If it had been the monitor on the PC Adam plays on, well it would have been so much worse as it was bought last Christmas and is a 22" and I may be up on a murder charge if it was that one ;)

Anyway. I thought Daddy would have gone mental, seeing he paid for it - but although he was cross he didn't react nowhere near as bad as what I did. It has made me sit and think that I really need contents insurance - including accidental damage on certain things - like the TV. Can you imagine if the screen on that ever smashed? We have had it for aaaaaaaaages now - over a year - but it is still the biggest screen you can buy at Currys or Comet. We simply could not afford to replace it.

A phone call and a shock....

First the shock. It was announced today that John & Edward were top of the votes. In fact they were ahead by 'miles' as the news said. Huh? Who on earth is voting for them? There is now concerns that they may actually win - and land themselves a million pound record deal - even though they are described as 'tone deaf'. I simply don't know what to say!

Next - the phone call. Zara's Mum called to say that Zara would love to come to Crealy with us on Saturday :) So Christopher is reeeeeeeeeeally excited! Bless him!

Awwwwwww!

How cute is this? We are hoping to tale a trip to Crealy sometime over the halfterm (they have lots going on for Halloween - including free pumpkins to carve and take home) and Christopher wanted Zara to come too. Now both Adam & Lewis have taken their friends before so told Christopher he could invite her. So this morning he wrote a letter and delivered it to her desk at school. He wrote Dear Zara, we are planning a day at Crealy on *date* and I was hoping you would like to come. Please ask your Mum & Dad and get them to ring me on *phone number* to tell me if you can come or not. Love Christopher. When I picked him up I asked him if Zara had read her letter. He said 'Yes. She read it and said 'I love you too Christopher'. Awwwwwww!

How exciting is it to have a week off of school?!!!! They said on the radio that most families spend £300 entertaining their children during halfterm. They said 1 in 3 children were having a trip to the zoo and 1 in 3 were going to the cinema. So I said to Squirrel 'Would you like a trip to the zoo?' and he said 'No'. LOL! So I said 'Would you like to go to the cinema?' and he said 'Yeah'. Not sure if the word 'trip' was what made him say no. Maybe he thought I meant 'trip over'.....LOL!

Well...

Adam is much much better today. He hasn't really eaten anything but he has been more like his normal self :)

Squirrel was a little warm this morning but much brighter. After dropping Lew & Furry at school he came home and decided to throw up everywhere. He only napped once which is a good sign (he napped lots yesterday and normally doesn't have a nap at all) but was quite grumpy and clingy when he woke up. I think that was more because he woke up before he was ready then anything else. He tried a piece of toast this morning but didn't do so well with it. Hoping he will manage to eat some dinner tonight.

Little Furry came home today with a note saying two boys were being silly and running around, which resulted in poor Furry taking a bang to the head. They said they put a cold compress on it and that he was really brave and the two boys had been dealt with. I said 'Awwww! You were brave!' and he replied 'No I wasn't. I cried'. Bless him.

Tomorrow the boys have a 'Spooky Disco' at school in the evening. Christopher is quite excited as last year he wasn't old enough to go. He is pleased because Zara is going so they can dance together. Awwwww!

'I just want to get my kids'.

Just imaging the desperation in those words is terrible. They are the words of the mother whose children died in the fire. She was at the upstairs window as the neighbours were trying to rescue her - she didn't want rescuing, she just wanted to get her babies out. I can't even begin to imagine being pulled to safety, watching your home burning and knowing the things that matter most are still inside. Then watching as one of your children get carried out and rushed away, and time seems to stand still as you wait for your youngest child to be found, and watching him get carried out and laid on the ground as desperate attempts to bring him back to life happen infront of you.

Anyway, enough on that as it is not nice to sit and think about. I have two poorly babies today. Squirrel woke up burning hot and glowing red. Ouch Ouch! Everything was aching and hurting. Then down came Adam, who was hot and not feeling so good too. He sat there and fell back to sleep. I just hope they pick up and are better really soon. I worry when they get a fever as it reminds me of the beginning of this year, when they were all really ill. Christopher was the worst, not eatting for over a week and losing so much weight, and that was something he just couldn't afford to lose. I was really worried about him, all he did was sleep and whimper. He still has not managed to gain back the weight he lost back then so I fear him getting ill again. He simply cannot afford to lose anymore weight. Keeping everything crossed that he does not catch their germs. *Sigh*

Best not think about it...

I am sure many have heard the horrible story of the 8 year old boy and his 15 year old sister who died in a house fire yesterday. Just picturing the scene makes you go cold. The fire, which was on the ground floor of the house, told hold quickly, making it impossible for the family trapped upstairs to escape. Neighbours watched on, many commended for risking their own lives to try and helped the trapped family escape. In fact the neighbours played a big part in rescuing the Mum, dad and only surving child from the burning house. The fire crews did all they could to rescue the boy and girl. The boy died shortly after arriving at the hospital and the girl died later in the day.

How on earth will that family manage to get on with their lives? Wouldn't you almost wish the fire had taken you too? The only thing to keep you going is knowing your only remaining child needs you more then ever.

Such a sad day for so many people. Obviously all the family & friends of those involved - but the impact goes much further. The neighbours who had to stand by and watch it happen, the fire crews who desperately tried to help them, and the Doctors and nurses at Torbay Hospital who did everything the could to save them.

Hug those you care about a little tighter today - and please - check your smoke alarms.

Whatever next?

In the news is the story of dumped baby. He had been put in a bag, wrapped in cloth, with his cord still attached ad....not put outside a hospital or even a phone box...oh no. He was put in a wheelie bin. He was found a few days later when the contents got sorted for recycling :( Why wouldn't you put him where he could be found and given to someone who would love him :(

Anyway. How has your week been? I am glad it's over I can tell you. Fridays are good days. You have the whole weekend ahead! And this week has the added bonus of knowing that there is one week left of school then a nice week off!!!

Christopher wants to go to Crealy and take Zara with him. So we may plan a day out next weekend if the weather is good. Bless my little Furry!

I think Squirrel knows it is Halloween soon. He is doing a really good ghost impression. It is just so cute and funny. He keeps making ghost noises and waving his little arms around trying to scare us.

What on earth...

is my boy up to? For some reason unknown to me he is as I write being driven around the town in a limo drinking Champagne. Huh? What is that all about? Knowing him he scammed a free ride.....LOL!

Anyway. So the X-factor live shows started. What did you think? Who did you like? Who did you HATE (John & Edward....LOL)?

My babies had fun at the beach today. Little Squirrel ran all the way down to Oddicombe beach and attempted to run all the way up. That is one long and steep hill! Bless him. No wonder they are all fast asleep! We also went for a Carvery today. Squirrel ate loads of his peas, carrots and sweetcorn (there were no runner beans much to his annoyance!). That boy loves his veggies (and fruit).

Anyway. Just finishing my cup of tea and then it is off to bed for me. See you soon!

thankfully the weather was much brighter today because the boys went off to school dressed up. Furry was Superman (again) and Lew wore his old Wizard costume - saying he was the Wizard of Oz (I didn't tell him the wizard was just an old man behind a curtain...lol).

Lew really didn't want to smile because he said a Wizard is an old man and old men don't smile. Nice huh?

I am sooooooooooo bad I haven't even finished my layout. I still have the old siggy that doesn't match. BUT! I am in progress of doing a new layout - and it has a special message attached. But bear with me while I work on it! It will be worth the wait - trust me!

Book Day

STUPID school! Tomorrow is 'Book Day' when all children need to dress up as a book character. Then in a couple of weeks they need to dress up for Halloween. Christopher will wear his 'Superman' tomorrow. But I haven't a CLUE what to dress Lew as. Woolworths is no more so I can't go hunting for a costume. And all the shops are full of Halloween costumes. I wonder whose bright idea this was?

And while I am on the subject of school - they are CRAZY! LOL! Seriously! INSANE! Once a child is on the accelerated reading program they read a book and then need to do a computer quiz before changing the book - to test their comprehension skills. (Christopher is doing very well with his quizzes :) Good boy!!!) Well - Lewis has been bringing the same book home for over a week. So yesterday I told him he HAD TO change his book. Well, he came home with the same book and said he told his teacher he needed to change his book as he had finished it ages ago and could he do his quiz - and guess what she said? LOL. She told him he must 'Wait his turn'. Huh? He is not asking if he can play a game or something - just if he can do his quiz and get a new book. Apparently you can't do a quiz during lessons (???). Confused? Cause I am! LOL. So a quiz must be done at reading time - but you must 'wait your turn' which after a week of finishing a book seems a bit strange to me. Give the kid a book to read damn it! *Sighing and shaking head*

Not sure what is wrong with me - but I realised that it has been like FOREVER since I took any pictures. I can't remember the last time my camera came out the bag. What is all that about? I will make sure I get some of the boys dressed up tomorrow (even if I have no idea what Lew will be wearing!) Suggestions please!

Hello :)

I have tried to 'spook' things up around here seeing Halloween is this month. Not too sure though so don't be shocked to see it change again.

After school today I took the boys into Sainsbury and got them a kids meal. Haven't been in there for ages (in the cafe) and can't say I am in a rush to go back. There were no clean tables, all were piled high with dirty dishes even though the place was empty all but 4 people. While we were waiting Lew & Furry were laying out place settings, with a napkin opened up, vinegar, ketchup was wrapped and placed at the top and the knife and fork where you would expect them. Then Lew got bored and started pretending to eat with his knife and fork. So when his meal finally arrived his 'setting' was messed up. So he said to the lady 'Please hold on a moment' and he re-arranged his layout. Then he smiled at her and said 'Please put my plate on my tissue'...LOL. She was like 'Awwwww - bless him'.

Then I said we would pop into the shop as I needed a nail brush. I looked around the bubble baths and soaps but couldn't see any. The kids tried to be helpful, pointing to a blusher brush (nice try Lew) and then a nail file. LOL. I said I would expect it to find them near the sponges - which resulted in Lew finding a makeup sponge. So I was more specific and said 'A sponge you use in the bath'. Anyway. Adam offered to ask someone. So he walks up the the assistant and....well....here is the conversation....LOL

Adam: Excuse me. Do you sell nail brushes?
Lady: A brush for cleaning your nails?
Adam: No, not a brush
Lady: Oh, what do you mean then?
Adam: It is like a sponge thing that you use in the bath
Lady: I am sorry I have never heard of those before

LMAO! I was hiding by the toothpaste crying with laughter. I trued to explain to him that a nail brush was not a sponge but a brush. He said I confused him with all the talk of bath sponges. He offered to go back to her and say 'Oh it is a brush actually' but I was like 'Nooooooo! Thank you but No.'
