Mummy's little helper

We got back from Asda and Emily wanted to help unpack. She took out each item, one by one, passing them to me and me saying 'ta'. Then she got to a chocolate bar. She looked at me and smiled. I said 'ta' and held my hand out. She shook her head and cuddled it. I said 'pass it to Mumma' and she did that screwed up nose grin and ripped it open.

Here is the result:

Good girl Emily. Ha ha ha!!!

And before I go, a very happy birthday to Mr T. Hope your day was special. Love you xxxx

Today...

Was pretty successful.

Daddy got stuck watching Oliver's play which he described as 'a waste of time'. Ha ha ha. I had the better option of Sams meeting.

When I arrived he was on his way out to play. He gave me a lovely smile and happily went off with his friends :)

The teacher said he is a really popular little boy with a big group of friends. Everyone likes to play with Sam. She said when he feels like he is struggling he starts to squeal and scream. Almost as if to say 'hey guys!  I am here and want to join in with this but don't know how'. She said you can just 'feel' his excitement. He loves being outside on the bikes and scooters. He tends to stay away from the adults. He wants to be with the children far more. Which is unusual as most children with speech problems prefer the adults who are better at working out what they want.

He is a happy boy with the best smile ever. He joins in and understands everything that is asked of him. She said they were doing an activity where each child was given a word and had to find their rhyming partner. She said it was so lovely to watch. Sam was quite confident but all the children almost know Sam needs help when it comes to talking so they were all 'looking after him'. They were sat saying 'Sam. Your word is ball' and making sure he knew what to do. Nobody asked them to help but he had a flock of people intent on helping him.

The ST asked her if he was saying much. She said no. He rarely talks to her. So I examined how far he has come in my opinion.

The conversation was focused on when he starts school in September. Making sure he has all the support and help he may need. They are going to put in for him to be statemented as special needs to get extra funding for him. This means if he needs a one to one support person they can give him that. Someone to help him, just for him. The education authority may refuse but will come and observe him to see if they feel it necessary.

They said I could request a place for him in the speech department at Barton. This could be for 6 months. A year. 2 years. Whatever he needs. The class is just 10 pupils instead of 35. The teaching and support is like no other. They have a full time ST there. The children thrive and do amazingly well.  However. This is not a choice to make lightly. There would be no guarantee that Sherwell Valley would have a place for him when he was ready to come back. The council often will offer free taxi transport for the children whose parents would struggle with other school commitments. I said that would be my last choice. No way do I want to take him  away from the little friends he has made. They said that they wouldn't want to see him go either and will do everything they can to support him.

At around this time he came in from play and wanted to sit with me. He crossed his arms and poked his lip out. They asked 'what's wrong Sam Sam?' And he said 'I want to go home now' and his teacher said 'wow!  That is the most I have ever heard him say'. He then say asking me for 'a big lolly. A big pink lolly'. And said he wanted to 'hold my hand up the hill'. They were all like 'it's so nice to watch him when he is with you' and the ST was impressed with the clarity of his words. They then decided to work on improving his confidence and relationship with the teachers so he feels he wants to talk to them too.

All in all it went well. It was nice that they all got to see his 'chatty' side.

Oliver's appointments went well. They offered to whip his teeth out next week. :O. I am not ready for that. They have us a appointment for March but that is too soon. We will cancel that and make one for later later.

Adams parents evening went well. They said he is like another boy. He is so grown Up and is working well.  His IT teacher said he is a really great guy. His personality is lovely.

His maths teacher had left early so Lews teacher called us over and said again how well Lew is doing. And said Lewis is working on stuff Adsm will never see so knows Lew will be able to support Adam with the C grade work. He will send Lew home with some stuff to help Adam with. He said 'they can bond over maths '
Adam was not impressed. Ha ha ha. His words were 'no way is that ginger nerd helping me with anything'.  :/

Proud of all my babies :)

Pad!!!!!

My baby is an addict. The first thing she says in the morning is 'pad' and then she sits there 'playing' for ten mins before realising there is far more trouble she could be getting into.

This is a usual 6.15am sight in my house :)

You may get more than you bargained for...

If you shop at Sainsburys.

Yummy cock soup for just 59p.

I have a problem. I forgot my password for my blog. That is why you have a dodgy picture from my phone, because blogger on my phone has my password remembered. But the laptop is asking for it and I have no idea. :O. So I couldn't login to share a better picture. Waaaa!  I am hoping it will come back to me when I stop thinking so much.

Tomorrow is Sams speech appointment at Nursery AND Olivers play at the sane time.  Daddy has the day off and he said he would rather watch the play but Olicer got upset saying he wanted Mumma to watch him. Not sure how good Daddy would be at Sams meeting though. May try and get Daddy to video it so Oliver can watch it with me after school.

Tomorrow is also Oliver's appointment at the hospital to discuss his teeth. And Adams 6th form parents evening. And Open Classroom for Oliver. So a few bits going on.

Will have a better picture tomorrow. ;)

Where is Sam?

He loves hiding. And he really believes that if he can't see you then you can't see him.

Tonight he hid under his towel after his bath. I had to call 'Sam? Where are you?'  and he would pop out giggling. Then he would hide again.

After calling 'Sam, where are you?' For the 79th time Emily answered before he could pop out. She said 'there' and poked his towel. Ha ha ha!!!  It was so cute.

When I grow up...

I want to be my Mumma!

Emily is just too cute.  She tries to wear my clothes and shoes.  She likes to sleep laying on my cardigan or coat.

Today she spent ages trying to get into my boots.  They kept squishing and she was getting angry in the end so needed a helping hand.  Please ignore her cream covered face and mouth.  That was from her previous antics.

Love her :)

Sunny Saturday

It was nice to see the sun back today, even though it was still cold and quite windy at times.  Walked along the seafront and went in to get my nails done.  Glad to get rid of the horrible silver!

In the afternoon we met Adam and Katie at The Willow Tree for food.  She is lovely!!!

I don't think either of them were impressed at me saying 'Let me take a photo'.  But I needed a picture for today.  Needs must hey?

Grumpy, Gunky and Growing

Its the three 'G's' today!

Grumpy = Oliver.  He was NOT impressed that it wasn't snowing or raining.  When he saw the sun he was complaining that he wanted to wear his boots to school. 'Can we have rain or snow tomorrow Mum?'  Probably Oliver, Probably.

Gunky = Sams little eyes.  Thanks Emily!!!!

Growing = Emilys hair.  Well in places.  One side is better than the other.

It was damp from her bath here.  Grow hair, grow!!!!

Gotta love a bargain!

Oliver is a spaceman. He is running and jumping saying 'I feel famous'.

Why is he a spaceman?  Because of his space boots of course.

These cute little things were originally, at TKMaxx price, £25. But in the sale for £3.

I tried to google how much they would have been somewhere else. But all I could find was adults and they were £130. :O

Gotta love a bargain.

Poorly baby :(

my poor little Christopher is sick now :(  He woke me up this morning stood there apologizing for disturbing me by saying he had been sick in his bed :(

Emily has been a proper Madam today.  She found Adam laptop that was on charge, unplugged it, opened it, switched it on, went to youtube, put on some music and started dancing.  It was so cute and funny!!!!

Hoping tomorrow is a healthier day!

The things we do for love

So Sam has been saying for ages that he want to have a ride on the bus.  They pass us each day on our walk to and home from Nursery.  He always folds his arms and sticks his bottom lip out when I say 'another day Sam'.  Well, that other day was today!!!!

We got on the bus at the shops and when asked where we wanted to go we said 'Back to here?  Like round the block?  Can we do that?'  I am pretty sure the driver and other passengers thought we were crazy!!!

We went upstairs and sat at the back at first and then when the front seats became empty we moved down the front.  Our 'adventure' took us around Chelston, down the the town, down fleet walk, up babbacombe road, around StMarychurch and all the way back again.  We were on the bus for an hour and 20 mins!

Oliver was sat saying 'Oh I love this.  I have always wanted to go on a bus ride'.  So easy to please you may think?  Well no.  Because him and Sam had a chat and decided next was a boat ride and then a plane please.  Ummmmmm..  Yeah.  Sure!

Waiting for the bus!  Soooooo excited!

Oliver waving the bus to stop.

 In total bliss!!!!!

This is such fun!!!!!  I can see so much from up here!!!!

Thinking of Mummy :)

And listen to Sammy giggle.  Too cute!!!!!

iPad addict - aged 12 months :P

Its funny how she knows which button to touch, even when she has turned the iPad around and the button is on the other side.

Poorly babes

Sam was sick first last night. Emily followed soon after. I am not sure who my heart went out to the most. Little Sam  who, in between being sick, would say, with his head in a bucket 'me alright now'. Or little Emily and the way she was wrenching with nothing left to come up. Was so sad to see. :(

Her she is today having some much needed Daddy love.

Moments after this was taken she was sick again. However she ate a little chicken for dinner and so far it's stayed where it belongs.

Will try and add a video soon. Xxx

Bad Mummy!!!

Emily was loving and kissing her baby.  Then she started throwing her around :O  I told her to put baby in her bed cause she was upset.  So she flung her from across the room into her bed.  Poor baby!

Dont be fooled by her angelic face.  She likes to beat her baby!!!!  Or at least fracture her skull ;)

What lovely weather!!!

I started off getting angry as the wind and rain started. In the end I was laughing like a fool as I realised the rain/hail had won and I couldn't get any wetter.

Even my little toes were soaked.  Lucky Emily - Thats all I can say!!!!!

Poor baby...

Sammy.  He walked home from Nursery all happy and smiley.  And then ran in the front door, slid on the kitchen floor and banged his mouth :(

Ignore the funny hat. Emily plonked it on his head and he happily left it there.  But you can seehis sore lip :(

Here is Moo and Lew <3 p="">

Lew put in one of the little slides that Beatrice sent to Emily :)

Loving her baby

It's all about Ronaldo!!!

If you don't love him it's either because a) you are not into football and so don't know much about him or b) you are into football and hate how awesome he is.

Ronaldo is a legend in my house. United fans and City fans alike just watch him in awe. I watch him cause he is pretty pleasing on the eyes ;) I am still living with the hope that one day he will return to United. We miss our awesome number 7.

Anyway. After 4 long and cruel years, he has finally got his golden trophy back. And he is man enough to sob with joy infront of millions.

And the legend himself ❤️

We are all happy in my house right now!!!!!!

Pucker up baby!

Emily has discovered the joys of kissing. She puckers her little lips and stands there until you kiss her, during which she makes a kissing sound. Then she grins and walks off to find someone else to kiss. It's adorably cute!

She is also and iPad addict and is really good at it!

Off to enjoy the delights of getting soaked :/

Hello sun!

Very nice to see you.

Waste of a lovely day though as I stayed inside and did nothing.  So I am grumpy and fed up. Especially when they give rain tomorrow.

I tried so hard to get pictures of Emily but she was really being stubborn and refusing to look at me.  The nly time she would give a quick glance was if I said 'Wave bye bye' and she would wave and say 'buh bye'....

So excuse todays rather rubbish pictures.  Blame the moo.

You can see her mouth in the middle of saying 'Buh bye' here.

Hope you enjoyed the sun more than I did :(

Today's pictures...

Are not very clear but are funny!

Emily kept bringing me her beaker for more water, running away with it and coming back for more. Then she didn't come back, So I decided to investigate.

There she was, water dripping from her ears and her hair soaking. She had tipped her water on the table, rubbed her hands on it and rubbed it on her head. I said 'Emily, what are you doing?' and as clear as day she said 'Hair'. Ha ha ha!

She looks very pleased with herself!

I said it was only a matter of time...

Before somebody got hurt by the new gate at school. What I didn't realise at the time was that it would've been one of my babies.

I can understand why they needed to put the new gate on. I mean what's the point in having a security gate if people always leave it open?  However I don't understand why the gate needed to be so heavy and to close so quickly.

In the mornings when there is a constant stream of people walking in and out it's crazy. As people are trying to walk in, the gate is swinging back and closing on them. When you were pushing the pushchair it makes it even harder. As you push the gate open it and then try and push the pushchair through, the gate is already closing so that you can't fit through the gap. I always have to rely on other people to hold the gate for me.

This morning as we got to the gate there was nobody close enough to hold the gate open, so Oliver and Sam try to push the gate open for me. The moment they let go its swings back and hit Sam on the head. He now has a nice big bump and bruise just above his ear :( He cried loads and kept saying 'Owwwww...head'.  I told his teacher about it as he wouldnt have been able to explain his baddie by himself.

Stupid school.  Stupid gate. *angry face*

Hands up!

So, Oliver suddenly popped out with 'Put your hand up if you begin with 'M'...' so I stuck my hand up.  He says 'Mum, Amanda Bowden starts with an 'A' and not an 'M'.  Yes Oliver, but I am 'Mum...  and Mum begins with 'M'...'  He sighed.  I am going to call you Amanda Bowden from now on.

2 mins later.  'Mum...' Ha ha ha!  That lasted long.

2005

Was the year that this blog first started.  Thats 9 years ago.  And I just looked back at my Christmas Day post.  Christopher was soooooo tiny!  Well all my babies were!

Take a look here!

Pretty in pink

Please excuse her chocolate covered top under her new cardi.  She had a lolly in the car and covered herself in it.  Her poor coat needs yet another wash :/

Lovely morning :O

Seriously!  Ha ha ha ha!

So, the wind and rain was crazy.  The lightning scared me and the whole of Torquay was plunged into darkness (Matt was at the gym at the time...lol) and the thunder sounded like a plane was landing on my roof (in fact Oliver asked 'What hit our roof?!!').  So I had a clever idea...

What is the point doing my hair to go out in the rain and wind?  No point.  So in stayed the curlers and up went the hood.  I had to button it up tight so it wouldn't blow down.

And as we leave the house the wind stops.  The rain stops.  The sun comes out.  And I look like I am out in a blizzard.  My head was hot, I was done up so snug my mouth was even covered. To say I looked a fool is an understatement.

Did I mention how Sam is really trying hard with his talking now?  Yes, well.  This morning he was saying all the way to school 'Mummy hood down.  Rain gone.  Mummy.  Hood down.  Mummy.  Rain gone look. Mummy.  Hood down'.  ALRIGHT SAM!!!!!!!!  Nice of you to draw attention to the fact that I am strange.

Now I am wondering, do I do my hair before walking down to get Sam?  Its not looking great out there.  If I do it I know it will pour down.  If I don't I know I will look a fool again.  Such decisions!!!

I think that...

this pictures sums Emily up.  Such a bundle of cheekiness!!!!!  Silly girl! Screwed up little nose!!!  You look so funny Emily!!! You look like a little rabbit!!!
